ക്രിസ്തുമസ് ആഘോഷിക്കുന്നതിന്റെ   കാരണം : യേശുക്രിസ്തു ജനിച്ചതിന്റെ ഓർമയെന്ന  നിലയിലാണ് ക്രിസ്തുമസ് ആഘോഷിച്ചു  വരുന്നത്. ക്രിസ്തുമസ്  ക്രൈസ്തവലോക ത്തിന്റെ ഒരു പ്രമുഖ മതവിശേഷ ദിവസ മാണ്.  ക്രിസ്ത്യാനികൾ എന്നു അറിയപ്പെടു ന്നവരും അക്രൈസ്തവരും ഒരുപോലെ ക്രിസ്തുമസ് ആഘോഷിച്ചുവരുന്നു.  ചിലർ  ഡിസംബർ 25നും മറ്റു ചിലർ  ജനുവരി 7നും ഒക്കെയാണ്  ക്രിസ്തുവിന്റെ  ജന്മദിനമായി ആഘോഷിക്കുന്നത്.  യേശുക്രിസ്തു ഭൂമിയിൽ ജീവിച്ചിരുന്നതിനു  നൂറ്റാണ്ടുകൾക്കു ശേഷമാണ് ഡിസംബർ 25 അവന്റെ ജന്മദിനമായി അനുസ്മരിക്കപ്പെട്ടു  തുടങ്ങിയത്  എന്ന വസ്തുത അറിയാതെ  പോകരുത്.  ഡിസംബർ 25 ഔദ്യോഗിക ഒഴിവു ദിനമായി  പ്രഖ്യാപിച്ചു കൊണ്ട്  AD 336ൽ റോമൻ  ചക്രവർത്തിയായ കോൺസ്റ്റാന്റിൻ തീർപ്പു  കല്പിച്ചതാണ് രേഖപ്പെടുത്തപ്പെട്ട ആദ്യത്തെ  ക്രിസ്തുമസ് ആഘോഷം.  ആ  തീയതി  തെരഞ്ഞെടുക്കാനുള്ള കാരണം World  Book Encyclopedia പറയുന്നത് ഇങ്ങനെ യാണ്:  "റോമിൽ സൂര്യാരാധന വിശേഷാൽ  ശക്തമായിരുന്ന കാലത്താണ് ക്രിസ്തുമസ്  ഉത്ഭവി...

ആനയ്ക്ക് ആൾ വന്നിട്ടുണ്ട്. കേരളത്തിൽ നാട്ടുരാജാക്കന്മാരുടെ ഭരണകാലത്തു നടന്ന ഒരു ചതുരംഗ കളിയെക്കുറിച്ചാണ് ഇന്നത്തെ ബ്ലോഗ് എഴുതുന്നത്. രാജാക്കന്മാരുടെ പ്രധാന ഹോബി ആയി രുന്നു ചതുരംഗകളി. ചിലർ അതി സമർഥന്മാരും ആയിരുന്നു. "ചതുരംഗ കളിയിലെ കളികൾ"  നന്നായി അറിയാവുന്നവരാണ് നാട്ടുരാജാക്കന്മാർ. അവരുടെ ഉദ്ദേശ്യം കളിയിൽ അയൽ രാജാവിനെ തോൽപിച്ചു അവരുടെ രാജ്യം കയ്യടക്കുക എന്നുള്ളതായിരുന്നു. അതിനുവേണ്ടി അയൽ രാജാവിന്റെ കൊട്ടാരം സന്ദർശിക്കുക പതിവായിരുന്നു. ഒരു ദിവസം തിരുവിതാംകൂർ രാജാവ് കൊച്ചി രാജാവിന്റെ കൊട്ടാരത്തിൽ ചതുരംഗം കളിക്കാൻ പരിവാരങ്ങളുമായി വന്നു. കൊച്ചി രാജാവ് അവർക്കു വിരുന്നൊരുക്കി. രാജാക്കന്മാർ രണ്ടുപേരും ചതുരംഗം കളിക്കാൻ ഉപവിഷ്ഠരായി. ഒരു സമയംകൊല്ലി കളിയാണ്  "ചതുരംഗ കളി" യെന്നു എല്ലാവർക്കും അറിയാമല്ലോ. സമയം കടന്നു പൊയ്ക്കൊണ്ടിയിരുന്നു. ഉച്ചയൂണിന് സമയമായി. തമ്പുരാട്ടി രാജാവിനെ ഊണ് കഴിക്കാൻ ക്ഷണിച്ചു. കൊച്ചി രാജാവ് പറഞ്ഞു: "എന്താടോ! ഊണ് കഴിച്ചാലോ." സമയം 12.30 ആയിരിക്കുന്നു." തിരുവിതാംകൂർ രാജാവ് : "ശരി, അങ്ങനെ തന്നെ ആകട്ടെ!" കളി പാതി ...

ആരോഗ്യപരിപാലനം: എങ്ങനെ  "പല്ലിന്റെ ബലം"  വർധിപ്പിക്കാം? ജീവിതത്തിൽ ഒരിക്കലെങ്കിലും പല്ലുവേദന വരാത്ത ആരും ഉണ്ടായിരിക്കില്ല. നമുക്ക് എങ്ങനെ  നമ്മുടെ പല്ലുകളെ ബലമുള്ള താക്കി മാറ്റാം? ഞാൻ ഒരു ദന്ത ഡോക്ടർ അല്ല. പക്ഷെ, ഡോക്ടർക്കും പല്ലുവേദന വരും, പല്ല് പറിച്ചുകളയേണ്ടിയും വരാം   ഞാൻ എന്റെ ഒരു അനുഭവം പറയാം. രണ്ട്  വർഷം  മുൻപാണ്.   പല്ലുവേദന അസഹ്യമായിരുന്നു.  ഒരു ദന്ത ഡോക്ടറെ കാണാൻ  തീരുമാനിച്ചു. അദ്ദേഹം പറഞ്ഞു:  "മുഴുവൻ plaque ആണ്. ഇടയ്ക്കിടെ പല്ല് ക്ളീൻ ചെയ്യണം. root canal  സർജറി വേണ്ടി വരും." വേദനക്കുള്ള ഗുളിക വാങ്ങി കഴിച്ചു. പല്ല് ശുദ്ധിയാക്കുകയും ചെയ്തു. എന്റെ വേദന മാറുകയും ചെയ്തു. നമ്മുടെ തിരക്കുള്ള ജീവിതത്തിൽ പല്ലിന്റെ  ശുദ്ധി കാത്തുസൂക്ഷിക്കുന്നത്  ഒരു സമയം കൊല്ലി ഏർപ്പാടായിട്ടാണ് നമ്മിൽ പലരും   വീക്ഷിക്കുന്നത് .  എന്നാൽ അതിനെ അങ്ങിനെയല്ല കാണേണ്ടത്. നല്ല ആരോഗ്യത്തിനും സുഖത്തിനും പല്ലിന്റെ ആരോഗ്യം വളരെ പ്രധാനമാണ്. നല്ല ആരോഗ്യത്തിന്  ശുദ്ധി അത്യന്താപേ ക്ഷിതമാണ്.  പല്ലുവേദന വരുമ്പോഴും രോഗം വ...
